The Inevitable
Of course I knew it would happen. It was only a matter of time. Fate, it seems, will have it’s way.
He finally peed on me.
Once last night, and again today. (At least today’s was warm…)
Up until that fateful diaper change last night, I’d successfully dodged Elliot’s aimed streams of liquid potty, utilizing finely honed bullet-dodging [...]

A Few Mugshots

Home Sweet Home
We’re home!
Tania and Elliot were just discharged this afternoon. The hospital staff were great, but we’re relieved to be home. Home at last!
You know me–I’ve got more thoughts, reflections, and musings than you can shake a stick at. But right now, all that isn’t important. (Besides, there’s too much to process at this point anyway–it’ll [...]

Welcome, Elliot!
I’m on a “drive home, take a shower, eat something, run some errands, and then drive back to the hospital” trip, so I only have a minute, but here’s the pertinent info.
Elliot was born January 24th at 2:51 PM, weighing 7.1 pounds and measuring 19.5 inches long. He’s the darn cutest little guy ever (I’m [...]

D-Day: And labor begins!
It’s Elliot’s due date, and he appears to want to keep his appointment!
Early labor has begun, possibly getting into active labor. We’ll be leaving soon.
See you all on the other side!

P.s. Prayers are always appreciated! Thanks!

D-Day -1
It’s D-Day -1.
“D” as in “Due”. One day to go until Elliot’s due date!
I intend to post one of these each day until we leave for the hospital. So, if a day goes by and I haven’t posted, we’re probably at the hospital rolling out the welcome mat for Elliot! (How’s that for an extreme [...]

One more week to go!
I am 39 weeks! Wow! I can’t believe the end is already here! It seems like just yesterday and then again it seems like a lifetime ago that we first found out I was pregnant.
It started out rough and was rough for most of my pregnancy but now I feel great…I have felt [...]

Limbo
Well, we’re kind of in limbo right now. Ten days to go. See, when they gave us Elliot’s due date they told us “give or take ten days”, so we’ve officially entered our birth window. Everything’s packed. (And it seems like we’re packing an additional this-or-that every day. I don’t know how I’ll drag it [...]

“Get some sleep now, because…”
“…after the baby’s born, you won’t get any sleep!” (Usually followed by chuckles from anyone in the room who’s had children.)
I tell ya, if I had a nickel for every time I’ve heard that these last nine months, I’d build a Money Bin to hold ‘em all, and I’d swim in it all day long.
Maybe [...]
